Hi Roo, checked new version from my ATIS PC to the sim PC (no sim loaded)

During the 3rd ATIS transmission there was no more received voice.

I think the receiving PC went into some voice blocking condition.

Logfile of the receiving PC is on my site you know; filename: log107a.txt

ciao

Thanks GianP,

I'll take a look, but I might not be able to get a fix out for the next few days.

In fact..

Before I look, do you get a message on your ATIS PC saying that you were Transmitting for too long?

I added a feature a while ago that only lets people transmit for X number of seconds.

If so I'll add something to help you transmit an ATIS.

Good morning!

I know about that feature so I release the PTT key between every ATIS transmission.

BTW, after the receiving output (voice) get blocked the noise (Sound on RX finish) that is set on still works.

@gianp Ok.

I'm in work today and don't have your website link with me.

If you can email me either you link or the log, I'll have a look.

UDP Message Error:

Is nothing to worry about.

It's because Im in the process of making the Pilot client compatible with the new ATC client.

It's good to find those errors though so I can resolve them anyway.

Decode Exception:
System.IndexOutOfRangeException: Index was outside the bounds of the array.

That one is a new one that you've found.

It relates to when the voice data is received and it converts it back to sound to play.

I'll be able to add a check for it, but I'm not sure why it's doing it at the moment.

Thanks for the log. 👍

I saw that when the post contains a link it goes into moderation. Of course I saw this the 2nd time I replayed.

However, nice forum feature!

Ok.

So I did a bit of research tonight and it seems others were having the same decoder issue, using the audio codec SimCom X uses.

So I've released a new version (108) that uses a totally different audio codec.

It does mean that 108 is incompatible with earlier versions, but hopefully the issue won't appear with this one.

Well,
after tonight tests I have the feeling that the garbled voice is generated when there are more than 1 PC on the local network.
Although all the configuration is right (different ports and correct forwarding in the router) there should be some interference when two clients are on the same IP.
Tonight, at the end, I heard all the people on 120.025 talk to each other at least for 8/10 minutes w/o any problem.

Ciao
GP

PS: The auto-update of SimcomX must run "as administrator".

Hi Gianp,

Yes I compile the installer with admin privileges, so I'll look to see if I can get away with that.

Regarding the local network...

Simcomx will use the local IP if a client is on the same LAN.

I use this way to test, probably the same as you do with your ATIS.

So I think the local network stuff should be ok.

I think the garbled voice is coming from the voice decoder trying to decrypt more than one audio packet at a time.

I'm going to experiment shortly.
