Split PTT Question

Hey Roo,

I have a question about the Split PTT function. The function works great, but I notice when Com2 is the active radio, initially everything works the way I would expect, meaning when I press PTT1 I am transmitting on Com2, and when I press PTT2 I am still transmitting on Com2. However if I press PTT1 again, (without changing the active radio) I begin transmitting on Com1 even though Com2 is still the active radio. I am assuming that PTT1 would always correspond to the Active radio. Am I correct in this assumption? When Com1 is the active radio everything works as I'd expect.

I also notice that when talking with my flying partner that his RX light remains illuminated on my client even though he is no longer transmitting and to clear it I have to press my PTT again. He sees the same indications when I complete my transmissions as well. The same indications applies with the TX light also. We do not get a stuck mic error and it appears to be an indication issue only.

I'm running version 3.2.0.3 in Group Server mode, FSX/MCE/PF3.

Thanks again for the support and a awesome piece of software.

Hi Tony,

I wrote the spilt PTT to transmit on the corresponding radio, irrespective of what radio was active.

So PTT1 should always transmit on COM1, PTT2 always on COM2.

Being honest I didn't think that the way I wrote it, would take into account which COM was active. I'll have to have a look and simplify the use when I'm next fiddling.

For now I would leave the COM1 as active when using split PTT and obviously have BOTH selected so you can receive on both COMs.

TX/RX lights were on a method I wrote that I found was causing high CPU usage in certain situations. So I removed that method in order to keep the app stable. Hearing ATIS from a ATCO client was on the same method.

I released 3.2.0.3 yesterday so pilots could hear an ATIS again and did try another way (a bit of a bodge tbh) of showing the TX/RX lights. It obviously didn't work as they are still sticking, but like you said it is only visual and voice does stop transmitting.

I'll take another look at the sticky lights when I have a look at the split PTT.

The good news is that it should be stable and able to hear everyone connected. It's only cosmetic issues left.
