Hello everybody,

A few days before, with 4 of my colleagues, we tried the software for the first time together on a common frequency.
We tried first on a simulator then without a connected simulator.

Here are the settings that we put in our SImCommx:

<a href=" removed link " target="_blank" rel="noopener"> removed link

<a href=" removed link " target="_blank" rel="noopener"> removed link

We tried SimComx voice network first:
-First problems: We managed to all get on the same frequency but not everyone agreed on the 5 of us. Some heard 3 people/5, some 1...
-Second problem: the application crashes very quickly for everyone: processor overload for all our computers, SimComm took up around 90% of the processor in the task manager and as a result it bugs and closes for everyone, no matter the configuration of each person's computer, very unstable

We then tried with the Group server option:

<a href=" removed link " target="_blank" rel="noopener"> removed link

The IP to connect never appeared in the Real IP box which meant that one of us opened the 7600 ports on his router and gave us his IP to connect and we entered GROUP SERVERIP.
It worked badly, some could hear each other and others couldn't reach the frequency. Generally maximum 2 on the frequency after more it crashed or impossible to join.

Thanking you in advance for your help, software with great potential is great!

Thanks in advance.

Good day.

Respectfully,
Mute

Hi Mute,

A CPU overload obviously shouldn't happen, so something is wrong there.

Can you look at the log file and see if it gives a clue to what might be causing it?

If people can't hear others then the voice messages are not getting through for some reason, this might be something as simple as a firewall blocking the app or a port (7600) already in use by another app.

You can try a different port and check the app isn't blocked by a firewall.

If you know how.. opening the UDP port in the router or enabling upnp will help a lot.

Do text messages show?

If not that is another indication that the app is blocked.

There are 3 small boxes on the app, one is a status light that will turn green when successfully connected to somebody else.

The other 2 are a data receive and transmit, and will flash when data is sent or transmitted (like an ethernet port).

If they are not flashing that might also help to narrow down the issue.

Hi Roo,

The CPU overload  did not recur on our new test but there were only 3 of us this time.

The log doesn't give anything interesting for the 3 of us, everything seems nominal in this one

We all cut the firewalls, opened the 7600 ports and allowed this one.

Once again everyone saw the chat messages but there were 2 of us who could hear each other, the 3rd couldn't hear us. On the other hand, when he was transmitting on the frequency, I could hear him but not the second really strange person.

All the buttons are green for the 3 of us as well as the indicators at the bottom right: the left one flashes green and the right one flashes orange for the 3 of us.

I put the photo links of our configurations but I don't know if it will be displayed:

Thank you for your help.

Good day

Once again everyone saw the chat messages

OK, That is good. It proves messages can get through and a firewall isn't blocking them.

Voice is the same as text messages, so if voice doesn't work we can look somewhere other than firewalls.

but there were 2 of us who could hear each other, the 3rd couldn't hear us.

On the other hand, when he was transmitting on the frequency, I could hear him but not the second really strange person.

I think there may have been an issue with the audio devices that wre set.

I think that SimCom X may have been showing you that you had the right audio device, but it was really set to something different without you knowing.

If this is the case it would cause a mic not to transmit to everybody else or anybody transmitting to you wouldn't have come from your speakers.

I hope I have now just fixed this.

You can test by typing ST ON in the chat window.

This will start a Self Test and you should hear yourself from the correct audio devices.

Typing ST OFF in the chat window will stop the Self Test.

All the buttons are green for the 3 of us as well as the indicators at the bottom right: the left one flashes green and the right one flashes orange for the 3 of us.

Again this is good as it shows data in and out and that you have received data from somebody else.

There is a newer version out now which I hope fixes the issues you mentioned above.

@mute I hope you had a good vacation. 👍

I found another issue caused by the latest changes. You may experience it or may not, so let me know how it goes.

I'm currently debugging another version in the background, which fixes the issue I found.

I'll release it once I'm happy it's stable.

Hello Roo,

I did new tests with 4 friends.
By disabling all Upnp and selecting SimCommX instead of Group Server, it works fine.

However, after 35 minutes without problems, there was again an overload of the processor load for everyone towards 80% just for SimcommX.
As if someone had added to our frequency and caused everything to crash.

Here is the log of my simcommx:

Thanks Mute.

I'm looking into it as we speak.

Without knowing exactly what the problem is, I'm having to check everything to see if it may cause the issue.

They'll be an update soon and thanks for letting me know. 👍

I'm hoping v3.2.0.0 available now has fixed the high CPU usage.

I've edited a lot, but there should be no difference to the end user.

I believe it may have been related to the way SimCom X Pilot was displaying the TX/RX lights.

I've also changed the way voice is transmitted and received.

I also noticed in your log that you had a STUN issue. SimCom X uses STUN to gain your connection data (IP and Port) so I'm hoping I've now resolved that issue too.

I also stripped out a lot of unneeded information I was gaining and optimized how SimConnect talks to a simulator.

I've run SimCom X Pilot under debug for a few days now and there were no spikes or high CPU usage.

Let me know..

Hello Roo,

We did some tests with 6 people last night. It's been a while since we've done one.

As a result, no one was able to agree on the same frequency which was 234.775. We have selected SIMCOM X for voice connection. Some were on a join fs server, others were not.

None of us managed to get the little green status light, it was always orange.

I'll put the logs of one of the guys
