I also noticed that Gian.

I've got a newer Pilot client and group server I'll release shortly, I'm just running a few more tests with them.

The motd works with them. 👍

I have a group server running at..

IP: slash.dotdash.space

Port: 7600

I think the motd should work with that if you wanted to try.

Your server connected (.116) and green light but no motd.

Another low priority issue, I think in simcomx-pilot this time:

If you power off and then power on again, simcomx green light wont come up again, stays orange.

Server console/log shows client removed (when power off) and then added again (when re-power on).

Simcomx log doesn't show another "connected to server".

ciao, GianP

I assume SimCom X voice is all now working ok?

Tested for 12 minutes on simcomx network with my usual config (LIMC_ATIS and I-TEST) w/o any problem (only 3 small glitches (*) shown in log)

No other user connected during test.

(*) Take into account LIMC_ATIS is on an old/slow PC.

Buona notte!

Gracie.

The green light is good. That means you received a message from the server.

I also saw you connected from my log, but not disconnect. So that's probably because the server didn't receive a disconnect message from your client.

As the server thinks you are still connected, it won't send a "Welcome message" to you the next time you connect. Which would turn your light green again.

But as you are still in the servers list, your details would get sent to any future clients that connect and they would turn your light green.

So that one is bottom of the list at the moment.

motd issue must be a client related then, as I do have it working with my current debug versions.

"small glitches" are nothing to really worry about. It means that the audio packets arrived incorrectly, either out of order or partly missing. A few small glitches might even add to the audio realism. But it's something to keep an eye on. If there becomes a lot of small glitches when lots of clients are connected together, I will have to tweak the audio slightly.

Let's see what improvements v 117 brings when I'm happy to release it.

Buona notte!

Everybody's help is really appreciated by the way (Gian, Tony and everybody else sending me emails).

Everything always works on my machine and LAN.

Only when it's used on different machines and networks do the issues arise.

So by letting me know what is happening, I can fix it and make usable software which I hope people find useful.

Latest SimCom X Group Server out now.

Written with .net7

So you'll need to install .net7 from Microsoft if you don't have it.

https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download/dotnet/7.0

Windows users click the .exe

Linux and Mac users run the .DLL from a command line.

Options:

-p set listening port

-i interactive mode True or False

True = You want to type commands in the console window.

False = The app is running in the background with no console access

-m Message of the day.

Sent to clients when they first connect to the group server.

Replace spaces in motd with a #

nohup /home/pi/.dotnet/dotnet /home/pi/scxgs/SimComX_Group_Server.dll -p 7600 -i False -motd Welcome#to#Roos#Group#Server! &

I have a test server running on a raspberry pi if you'd like to try it.

IP: slash.dotdash.space

Port: 7010

SimCom X Pilot 119 or above is needed.
